The fees

How much does a Galápagos trip cost in 2026?

Two official numbers. Everything else is a quote, and a quote goes stale.

  3. What this page will not price

A total for “a Galápagos trip” would be a fiction. Cruises, land weeks, and last-minute flights are not one number. Two fees are published. The rest you ask for.

$200Park conservation fee for a foreign tourist over 12. Under 12: $100. From the park’s current table.

$20Transit control card, for foreigners and Ecuadorians. Free under 2. Paid apart from the park fee.

The park fee

The Dirección del Parque Nacional Galápagos collects the entry tribute for the protected areas. Park rangers collect it at the airports on Baltra and San Cristóbal. The table on the park’s site is headed as provincial ordinance 001-CGREG-30-06-2025.

WhoFee
Foreign tourist over 12$200
Foreign tourist under 12$100
Andean Community or Mercosur, over 12, not resident in Ecuador$100
Andean Community or Mercosur, under 12$50
Ecuadorian, or a foreign resident, over 12$30
Ecuadorian or foreign resident, under 12$15
Ecuadorian or foreign resident, over 65, or with a CONADIS disability card$15
Foreign student enrolled in an Ecuadorian school, not a resident$50

The park’s page says children under 2, and people entering as transients, are exempt. A US tourist over 12 is the $200 line. The United States is not in the Andean Community or Mercosur. Those lists on the page are Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, and Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The transit card

The Consejo de Gobierno’s procedure says every tourist or transient needs a tarjeta de control de tránsito. The price it prints is $20 for foreigners and nationals, and nothing for children under 2.

You pre-register online, then show documents at the CGREG counter in Quito or Guayaquil airport and pay. The legal note on that page asks for identification, and for a personal round-trip ticket between the mainland and the islands. Tourists, on that same page, are people visiting for leisure for at most two months in the year.

The UK entry page adds, for the islands, evidence of a hotel or a host letter and travel health insurance for foreign tourists. That insurance sentence is the FCDO’s. Confirm it before you treat it as a rule on a US passport.

What this page will not price

  • The flight from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra or San Cristóbal
  • A hotel in Puerto Ayora, a cabin on a cruise, or a day boat
  • Meals, tips, or a wetsuit

Those are quotes. GetYourGuide, Viator, and Klook, linked below, show day-tour prices on their own pages. A cruise brochure is the cruise. The island-hopping guide is how a land week is shaped. The two-week route is where the highland days sit in front of it. The choice of island changes the hotel, not the $200.
