Ecuadorist is an independent guide for English-speaking travelers, people who work remotely, and anyone considering a longer stay in Ecuador. The voice is a magazine’s: large photographs, short chapters, and no filler.

What we will and will not invent

Places named here are real. We do not invent prices, opening hours, phone numbers, or street addresses. Kitchens change hands and visa rules move. When a fact matters to a booking or a move, confirm it with the place itself or with an official source.

What this site is not

Ecuadorist is not a law firm, a clinic, a bank, or a travel agency. The visa chapter is an overview, written so you know which door to open. It is not advice for your situation.

A note on the airport

Links to UIO Transfers go to the site owner’s own airport-transfer company in Quito. Those links are not third-party advertisements. Other partner links are explained on the affiliate disclosure.
