The fine print
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on Ecuadorist are commercial. If you use a sponsored link and later buy something, the partner may pay this site a commission. You do not pay extra for that. Recommendations are chosen because they are useful to a trip, not because a commission exists.
Sponsored links
These open in a new tab with rel="sponsored". They are labeled “A partner” on the page.

The owner’s company
UIO Transfers is the site owner’s airport-transfer business in Quito. Links to it are ordinary links. They are not sponsored placements and they are not labeled as a partner.
Plain brand links
A few names do not yet have a tracked partner address. Those cards are labeled “A resource” and go to the company’s own homepage. We do not invent affiliate codes. Booking.com, when it appears, is the homepage only, never a search-results URL. A future tracked Booking.com link, if one is added, will point at a specific property.

- Viator — Days out
- Booking.com — Rooms
- SafetyWing — Insurance
- Wise — Money
- Cigna Global — Health cover
Editorial rule
Chapters on food and rooms name real places and skip prices, hours, phone numbers, and street addresses. A partner card is never a substitute for checking that a kitchen or a hotel is still open.
